Dear Elder,
Welcome to the first in a series of Center of The Golden One spiritual offerings for Elders on both Paths. You are about to embark on a life changing experience that is essential for the last stages of your spiritual journey towards a conscious departure.
This first offering carries the foundational teachings and exercises that provide the framework for any additional Elder Offerings you may choose to do in the future. As you will soon understand, the transition from “Doing” to “Being” involves a shift in consciousness, and that shift begins with embracing these offerings as just that – offerings – rather than a program to be done sequentially in a certain period of time. Doing any of the Elder offerings as you have done other spiritual programs in the past most likely will cause you to miss the peace, depth and gracious acceptance that come with your exploration of being an Elder.
It will take courage and determination on your part to not jump back into familiar habits of doing and/or urges to get busy in order find relief from feelings that most likely will accompany this transition. There is a reason this offering is 12 weeks minimum in length. You are encouraged to spend more time if needed because it can take at least that long to break old habits and make the change from “doing” to “being”. There is a lot of space given in this first offering and in all of the Elder offerings to explore and experience the practice of being.
Ideally you could approach this offering with like-minded Elders who are also participating in this Offering. It helps to have people who can support you, especially when you start to feel a pull to go back into old ways of doing your material life, your service and/or your spiritual work. If you are doing this Offering on your own, perhaps consider inviting a friend on Freedom Walk or the Path to share in your discoveries with you from time to time.
